how to fix a vintage record player?

im not sure but if it is old you can always replace it with a modern look alike at target there’s a radio/cd player that looks like a vintage record player

all you need are some VINTAGE tools.
but seriously….Often the platter just comes straight up and off its spindle. The belt is long and runs to a small pulley off to the side. IF it is a direct drive (not likely) then there is no belt, obviously.
Motors rarely go bad, especially a low RPM motor like that. I would look at a fuse or just a wire that has come loose.
Good luck with your record player. I LOVE listening to vinyl..

If it’s a power issue, check the cord & especially the AC switch.
If the motor doesn’t run, the bearings may need cleaning & oiling.
If the motor runs, then the probable cause is a dried out rubber idler wheel which connects the motor shaft to the turntable rim; this is the most likely & most common cause.
Replace it if you can, otherwise roughening it up with fine sandpaper often does the trick.
