Music comes from turntable needle?
February 24th, 2010 by adminSo I have an old technics turntable that I use to listen to records. If I turn off my stereo (amp & speakers) I can still hear the music coming from the needle/cartridge. This isn’t a problem for me.
I’m just wondering why I can distinctly make out the music straight from the cartridge?
As the needle vibrates in the groove it vibrates the air enough to carry the sound. It’s normal, but I’d think about reducing your tracking force a bit.
