Technics SL-1500 Turntable?
February 9th, 2010 by adminI picked up a Technics SL-1500 turntable recently, everything moves as it should, but i when i try connecting it to my stereo, i can bearly hear the sound…almost nothing! dont know if it needs a new needle or if its something else. Can anyone please help!? thank you.
It sounds like you are not connecting the turntable output to the right receiver input. You can not connect your turntable to the CD or Tape input because neither of them have a preamp assigned to the channels.
You need to connect the output (usually 2 x 1/4" phono) to the input market "Phono" on the back of the receiver. If you have this correctly set up, then you might have a bad receiver amp.
If the amp is good and the connection is right, you may need a new stylus. You can probably find one here http://www.lpgear.com/
