Can i play records on my Technics 1200 turntable through my apple mac .?
February 5th, 2010 by adminHi i keep meaning to ask at my apple store but can i do this? Do i need an adaptor or program or is my mac set up for this…by the way my mac is an 2.0ghz with intel chip desktop. Heard various answers but nothing solid. Can anyone help?
Sure Bro!
Your computer already has the software (GarageBand) BUT you do need an Adapter like this:
http://astore.amazon.com/homerecostudd-20/detail/B001IPSX8M
The reason is that the SL1200 (nice deck btw) has phono level outputs and needs some amplification to get to line level. The interface above plugs into your USB, and then you can plug your SL1200 into that.
Best,
Erik J
