Magnavox Portable Stereo Record Player
November 2nd, 2009 by admin
This is my Magnavox portable record player I won off ebay recently. It was A little crummy when I got it but it cleaned up quite well with some cleaner and a brush. I also installed an new needle. My mom was always telling me I should get an older magnavox because they were close to top of the line in the 50’s and 60’s.

Very unique. Do you remember the type of needle/cartridge and what you used to gently clean the yellowed turntable mat?
Thank you for sharing and letting us know about this era. Had no idea they were that good. Very cool. GREAT JOB
PS. If you feel up to it., play us another song.

Your mom was right! …
Your mom was right! And the last year that type came out was 1969. The ‘70 model had the updated changer and air-suspension speakers. I have wanted that model for 39 years! I bought a table model then for $119.90, if I could have held off, I could have afforded this one. I have the wood finished table set with radio. Anyone that has this one with the record player only is lucky!

There’s 3 of these same players on Ebay right now, but on of them has the older style Micromatic changer and the other has an AM/FM tuner with the older Micromatic TT too.
