how to connect record player to stereo?
March 11th, 2010 by adminhi i have a record player and i connected it to my stereo but when i play a record its really low even if i turn up all the volume its reaaly low when i bought the record player we tested it out and it worked fine but i think the reson its sounds low is because you have to push the phono button but my stere does not have that button it just has aux and on aux it sounds really low the stereo i have is a panasonic mash how can i fix this or what can i do??
You need a phono pre-amp. You can get a really cheap one like this: http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-Ultra-Compact-Phono-Preamp-PP400/dp/B000H2BC4E/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=musical-instruments&qid=1218145511&sr=1-4
However, like all audio components, the sky is the limit for how much you can spend, and in general you get what you pay for. Entry level audiophile brands include NAD, Pro-ject and Rega, who all make great phono stages around the $200 level.
