Some help would be greatly appreciated:) do i have have to look for a certain jack at the back of the stereo system? i would like to know before i go and put down 100 bucks towards this, Thanks alot:), Troy

On the back of your stereo, there all kinds of round small holes to connect wires to. Depending upon how old your stereo is, these kinds of wires and connections are called "RCA phono plugs" regardless of what you’re connecting. In fact, when you hook up your dvd player to the vcr or tv, you have to use RCA phono plugs and wires. Some have two diff wires for only sound, some for tv viewing have 3 wires, 2 for sound and one for video.

The record player would have to have these phono plugs (usually one red and one white) for sound to plug into the "IN" part of the back of your stereo. On most good stereo amps, there’s a specific place to plug in a record player, because some amps have special bits for translating the music. But if not, then just use AUX for auxilliary(which means extra). You just have to have a switch on front of amp to turn to select the phono or aux to play the records.
