If a record player doesn’t have a volume knob how do you adjust the volume?
February 21st, 2010 by adminThis is probably a really idiotic question, but I don’t know anything about record players. There’s no volume knob on this record player so how do I adjust the volume?
Are you talking about a record player or a turntable. A turntable is just the drive and tone arm to play a record. There’s no amplifier of any sort so it won’t have a volume control. A record player is a turntable and at least a pre-amp. This may still not have a volume control because it will need an amplifier to drive any speakers and the amplifier should have a volume control for it. A record player can also have a built in amplifier. In this case it will have to have a volume control.

Ummm….That’s kinda weird-it has to have one somewhere. Try slightly turning the on and off knob. I once had a record player where the volume knob was the same knob as the on and off switch. If that’s not it, then just try anything that looks even remotely like a knob/dial/switch type thing-or else it may just be broken.

Record player have no volume control because you need to connect them to an amplifier.
(Some old Record players had also speakers and a small amp. – like a boombox, but most record players don’t. )
