where can i get a sony record player / turntable serviced?
January 16th, 2010 by admini have the the 250 model, and i live in orange county california. i believe the motor on this unit is burned out. or do you think that it would be better to just toss it out and buy a new one. i prefer to reuse things as much as possible but if it will cost too much then it has to go.
Are you sure the drive belt didn’t break or slip off? A new belt would be an easy and inexpensive fix.
If not, Sony has an exchange program for that table where you send yours in and get a refurbished one for $58.19. Shipping of the refurbished table is included, but it looks like you have to pay to get your broken table to them. Repairing your table would cost a flat rate of $114.00 which is more than it sells for.

I know Sony is overpriced on their parts, so between that and labor, I don’t think the turntable could be repaired for less than a new one would cost at a local electronics shop.
