what is the best turntable/record player i can buy for under 75 dollars?

Here are a few ideas…
If you want a new one, try Circuit City or Radio Shack. You may have to have them order one. It will be far from top of the line.
For a good used one, try calling around to family owned electronics stores in your area. They sometimes have used equipment for sale that has been tested and/or restored.
A Thrift Store is an option, just try it out first. If it only needs a needle, they’re still easy to replace. Tons of needles and cartridges are still available online.
I picked up several turntables/stereos at local auctions in my area for as low as $1. That’s an option. Looks for brands like Sony, Dual, Technics, Pioneer, etc.
You could also try an ad in the paper or Craigslist. People wanting to clean out their house or a relative’s house will be more than happy to sell you theirs.
For under $75, it may take some hunting, but it is possible.
