Please recommend a good USB Turntable / Record Player….?
February 9th, 2010 by adminHi, I’m looking for a good usb turntable with simple-to-use software. I would prefer a turntable with a lid / dust cover. Any recommendations please? I’m looking for something between £50 – £80. Thanks.
As it happens, I got given an ion TTUSB10 turntable yesterday. It seems decent quality and easy enough to use, and I believe it costs about £90 from Argos:

Alternatively there’s a cheaper version, the TTUSB5, which is a bit more basic but is within your price range.
EDIT: The Maplin one mentioned by the answerer above is the TTUSB5, but for some reason it’s expensive on their website. I’ve seen it in their shops for about £50-60:

to save a bit of cash
buy a Numark-PT01-Portable-Turntable $90us
download the free – ‘Audacity’ software from audacity.sourceforge.net
I had bought a Vestax Handy Trax Portable Turntable for much more money and it wasn’t any better quality.
neither are audiophile quality. more like old fashioned record players
