How much do you think this record player/turntable is worth?
January 25th, 2010 by adminI have a record player for sale but I’m not sure how much I should charge for it. It’s old and in pretty good shape and i need some money so I don’t want to undercharge but I also don’t want to over charge anyone. Heres a link to it. It’s a Reference by Quadraflex 620t made in japan.

Actually they are because I got someone interested in one right now. That’s why I’m asking. And I already tried E-bay or I wouldn’t be here right now SMARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You’re correct that good used turntables are actually a pretty hot item right now. Vinyl is becoming more popular again and many new and reissued vinyl LPs are coming out. The prices on decent new tables are pretty high and good used tables are commanding pretty good prices due to that.
Although, this isn’t a very popular make and I’m not sure how good the quality is or what features it has. I’m sure others have little knowledge of this brand too, which may make it harder to get a good price. It does appear to be a "plastic fantastic" model that won’t go for over $100.00. Very hard to make much out in the small, blurry photos… What cartridge is on it could make a big difference in the value… Belt drive or direct-drive? Quartz-locked speed control? The ad doesn’t say if it’s been tested for proper operation and speed. You can test the speed accuracy with a strobe disc that can be downloaded online and printed… Download the 60hz discs for the USA.

With the lack of info, I wouldn’t think you’d get more than $20.00 – $30.00 for it. Somebody would really be taking a gamble. If you could list more info on the features, weight, cartridge, etc… and verify the table works as it should, you would probably be able to get more. Probably more like $50.00 or even $100.00 if it has a decent cartridge on it, some desirable features you didn’t mention and you could a better job of assuring the buyer that everything works as it should.
Good luck! Hope your deal goes well and everybody’s happy!

I don’t think people still buy turntables anymore but search e-bay’s completed auctions for final prices.
