Removing the needle from an older record player?

I’ve got a record player that was handed down to me from my dad. It’s really old, I’ve had it for around four years, and haven’t replaced the needle yet. It’s beginning to wear down, I’ve tried the penny trick, but I’d like to get a new needle some time soon. I’m having a lot of trouble taking the needle off. It seems like its all one unit, there’s nothing for me to unscrew to take the whole cartridge off. Any tips? (I think it was probably made in the 70’s/80’s)

In many cases the stylus assembly pulls straight off the front of the cartridge. Don’t pull on the stylus itself but see if it is mounted in a plastic assembly that slides off the front of the cartridge. Don’t use much force.
