cleaning needle on record player?

i need to clean the needle on my record player

1. i have 70% alcohol isopropyl alcohol, is that safe to use as opposed to a needle cleaning specific cleaner?

2. i dont have a brush, is there anything else i can use like a cotton swab for example?

The alcohol you have is fine – if you can’t fine the special brush that is used to clean record player cartridges, here’s also what works… Try a decent paint brush – a small brush like you’d paint a portrait with. Stiff bristles, but not too stiff.

Don’t use a cotton ball or Q-Tip, all that will do is pull off the cotton.
