Where can I get a sound affect of the needle over phonograph?
February 18th, 2010 by adminSlightly random but I need it. Please dont just give me a link to a random sound affects website because ive been on those, can you give me the link to the ACTUAL affect?
ohh its a very hard sound to describe.
I mean like the sound where a song is playing and it cuts it off-its quite squeaky- and then someone starts talking or another song plays or something
Couple of questions here:
Do you actually mean sound effect, as opposed to sound affect? (They are totally different things…)
What exactly does "needle over phonograph" mean?

You need to describe more about what your need it for/what part of the process you want ?
The arm of an old radiogram raising and lowering to the record.
The sound of the needle landing on the run-in groove
The sound of some song playing on the player,
The end runoff loop, and the needle in that loop (at what speed 78, 45,33 1/3 rpm)
A radiogram taking the arm off the record at the end ?
Or just a scratchy sound to put over the top of a good recording ?
- there were a few examples of pop bands in the past producing 2/3/4/5 mins of ’silence’ recordings..
- or the hum of an old amplifier ??
why not just play a record on a record player ?
You really need to explain more precisely what it is you are needing.
The title is just to imprecise
Being very strict,
A needle (the stylus) hanging over a record player (phonograph) it itsefl would make no sound at all, as it would not be touching anything
