    Great song! The …
Great song! The way he sings has influenced everyone. I even hear Snoop in it, “Played ’side the wall”. The way he sings just sits in your head, and every blues player has tried it after him. This song mixes sexual innuendo with a record player, which shows his genious, musicians didn’t do that in 1936.

    in my opinion thats …
in my opinion thats part of whats so great about these old recordings, almost haunting. Have a listen to preaching blues (up jumped the devil) by robert johnson, notice how he plays rhythm, lead, and sings at the same time. Let me know what you think about that recording, just want you to see in him what so many others do.

    Maybe he had, I …
Maybe he had, I would have to hear him live to judge. Too bad, he was unable to record along other instruments – percussion, bass, but I think it’s lack of recording techonolgy in those days. Johanson was recording on mechanical phonograph (without electromagnetic pickup), right?

    Stop talking …
Stop talking about devil. Maybe back in ‘30 he played like satan himself, but for modern standards beginners skills are bigger than his.
