Where can I find a dust cover and a hinge for my Technics SL-BD22 turntable?

The left side hinge has broken on the table, as you face it, and on the same side the teeth on the back of the cover have also broke. Any suggestions as to where to get these items would be appreciated!

Will Technics turntables be worth more in the next few years?

I have the Technics 1210 M5G turntables and was wondering… Since Technics isn’t making turntables anymore will the value of these tables go up in the near future? If so, how many years from now?

The Technics 1200/1210 series is still in popular demand after manufacturing ceased. There’s a few possibilities regarding their price. I think the most likely is that there is a ‘bubble’ currently with prices of these turntables, meaning that their price is high now and will level out once everyone stops trying to snap them up. The turntables need to be sought after and scarce for the price to go up; they’re certainly sought after, but hardly scarce since they were so popular and Technics produced so many. If the 1200 is ever replaced as industry standard, which it probably will be eventually (unless everyone goes digital) then expect the price to drop. It’s hard to say how long it will be before the price changes, as it will depend on competing technology and trends within the DJ community.

Where can I find a replacement power cable for a Technics SL-D20 Turntable?

I have a Technics SL-D20 Turntable recently purchased from a garage sale that lacks a power cable. The turntable has a 2 prong adapter, but it is not one that has a square and semi-circular portion, but rather seems to accept an elliptical two pronged cable. It is listed on the back as "Power Source AC120V 50 or 60hZ 6w"

That type of connector was common before the IEC style cable became the standard. Perhaps you can scrounge some more tag sales or estate sales, friends garages and attics. You might check to see if there is an electronics surplus store in your town. Those guys never throw anything away.

Are your turntables really playing at the same speed when both 1200’s are at the +3 position? I doubt it. Look at your strobe lights, those dots on the platter mean something! Will this help using Serrato? YES! You still need to know if your 1200’s are fast or slow.

What is the going price for a Technic SL-7 turntable now a days?

I have a Technic SL-7 turntable that I want to sell but cannot find any info on how much they are going for. It is in good condition and works just fine, no manual though.

Do the simple calculation for this:
Current Market Price for Brand new product of SL-7 – (reduce 15% for each year it is old) + add 10% premium for being in good condition = Current Price for your SL-7

Technics 1400 turntable question?

I recently acquired a Technics SL 1400 turntable, and this is going to sound ridiculous, but I really cannot figure out how the "starting" process works. There is a stop button to stop playing the record, but I have just been moving the tonearm by hand and then lowering it with the lever. I must be missing something right?

No. It isn’t going to do what I think you want it to do which is, from what I can glean from your description, pick up the tone arm and put it down on the record to start playing. It is an "auto – return" turntable which just picks up the tone arm at the end of the record and sets it to the rest position. To do what you want it to, it would have to be a fully automatic turntable.
